19 injured as Mysuru-Darbhanga Express hits goods train near Chennai

At least 19 people were injured after a running express train collided with a stationary goods train on Friday evening at Tamil Nadu’s Kavaraipettai railway station, near Chennai. Due to the impact of the collision, a fire broke out in two coaches, and at least 13 coaches derailed.
The stranded passengers of the Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express were transferred to another special train on Saturday morning to continue their journey. The injured people have been hospitalised.
Restoration work continued in the area on Saturday to resume train services. Drone footage showed damaged coaches scattered at the site, while crowds gathered at the accident spot.
